M. Chapoutier Description
Colour: intense garnet.
Nose: herbacy, spices (liquorice), chocolate, fruits (strawberry).
Mouth: ample, fleshy, hot and round.
Outstanding density with an impressive length.
According to the vintage, the wine can be kept from 30 to 60 years, indeed from 50 to 75 years.
Wine Spectator: 96 Points
This belies the lush fruit of the vintage—for now. Supersilky and perfumy, delivering gorgeous blackberry, Lapsang souchong tea, sandalwood and shiso leaf notes that all glide along fine-grained tannins, with a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit in reserve. Seamless and pure. Should blossom in the cellar. Best from 2012 through 2025.
