M. Chapoutier Description
Colour: intense garnet.
Nose: herbacy, spices (liquorice), chocolate, fruits (strawberry).
Mouth: ample, fleshy, hot and round.
Outstanding density with an impressive length.
According to the vintage, the wine can be kept from 30 to 60 years, indeed from 50 to 75 years.
Wine Spectator: 95 Points
Dense but supple, offering layers of fig sauce, black currant, braised fig and mulled blackberry fruit stitched with tobacco leaf, bittersweet cocoa powder and black tea, with a very long finish. A lovely iron hint lurks in reserve. Should slowly put on weight and cruise in the cellar. Best from 2014 through 2030.
