Sterling Description
A classic blend, our 2011 Meritage combines five Bordeaux varietals into a wine that is juicy, rich and satisfying. On the nose, fragrant oak frames dark fruit with vanilla, mocha, cherries, and black raspberries. On the palate, red fruit reigns, picking up dark plum notes. Cedar spices join structured tannins for a long, complex finish. “It is fruit-forward, fun and approachable,” says Winemaker Jim Corkin. “But serious wine drinkers will also find it has a lot to offer, with some depth and complexity from the mix of different varieties.” Pair this smooth, medium-bodied wine with herb-roasted pork loin, grilled steaks or creamy pasta.
