Wine Spectator: 96 Points
Tightly focused, with a beam of linzer torte, bitter cherry, plum sauce and fig fruit laced with licorice snap, singed iron and roasted bay leaf. The long finish has lots of roasted fig, tar and spice notes for extra bass, but the acidity is there as well, deeply embedded. Best from 2015 through 2030. 473 cases made. –JM
Vinous: 94 Points
Bright violet color. A wild, expressive bouquet evokes dark berries, fruitcake, olive and pungent spices. Broad and sappy, offering sweet blackberry and cherry compote flavors and a wallop of candied flowers. Shows intense spiciness on the finish, which is sweet, focused and very persistent
