M. Chapoutier - Ermitage Le Meal Blanc 2007 (1.5L)
M. Chapoutier Description
COLOUR : golden yellow, brilliant.
NOSE : intense, very mineral, celery overtones, slight and well-integrated hint of wood.
MOUTH : ample attack, well-rounded, fine exotic freshness, roasted almond. According to the vintage, the wine can be kept from 30 to 60 years, indeed from 50 to 75 years.
Vinous: 94 Points
Pale greenish gold. Orange, pear, hazelnut, sweet butter, truffle and minerals on the nose, with a slow-building floral quality; like a serious Chassagne-Montrachet. Palate-staining sweet citrus and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by smoky minerals and talc. The minerality seems to gain power on the finish, which is strikingly pure, focused and persistent. More energetic than the l'Oree, and in need of more patience.

Wine Spectator: 93 Points
A ripe, flattering style, with apricot, quince, grilled hazelnut and powdered ginger notes that all weave through the mouthwatering, floral-tinged finish. Persistent and well-knit, with the apricot note lingering. 805 cases made. –JM
