Wine Spectator: 96 Points
Superdense but really fresh, with a wild array of zesty blackberry, loganberry, linzer torte and briar notes laid over perfectly embedded tannins. Long and pure through the finish, with lots of minerality waiting in reserve. Great length. Best from 2010 through 2025. 511 cases made. –JM
Vinous: 94-96 Points
Opaque ruby. Intense raspberry and kirsch aromas are underscored by graphite, violet and smoked meat. Deep, chewy and sweet, offering dense red fruit liqueur flavors, supple tannins and a sharp crack of salty minerals. Became fleshier with air, finishing with dark berry preserve sweetness. This seemed as if it had been grafted onto my palate.
