One of the most prominent names in American wine is Sebastiani. With more than century of experience in California's Sonoma Valley, four generations of Sebastiani winemakers have navigated the environmental, legislative, and changes in consumer demands. The original Sebastiani was acquired in 2008 by the Foley Wine Group (which includes in its portfolio Sonoma's Chalk Hill and Roth Estates), but the Sebastiani family simply moved onto to new projects. Third generation winemaker Don Sebastiani formed Don & Sons with Donny and August Sebastiani, and markets brands such as Smoking Loon, Pepperwood Grove, and Aquinas as well as the Don & Sons wines. August then moved onto create The Other Guys Wines in 2006 (also in Sonoma), and today markets nearly a dozen labels, and has recently expanded to include distilling under the umbrella of 35 Maple Street Spirits. Bib and Tucker Small Batch Bourbon, aged for six years in small barrels, is 35 Maple's first bourbon. Named for "your finest attire" they suggests that Bib and Tucker represents the "finest" bourbon. The reviews have been strong (96 points from the Tasting Panel), but Steve and I can attest to quality of this bourbon. We had the opportunity to taste it (just prior to upstate New York release) at this past Fall's Whiskey Fest, and were anxious to make it available to you.

Bib & Tucker Description

During America's rough and tumble early days, the term 'bib & tucker' was used to describe our finest attire, the kind you'd wear to a wedding or special dance. Along those same lines of thinking, we're putting forth our finest. BIB & TUCKER is a delightfully smooth bourbon sporting notes of chestnut, and it's crafted with a sense of dedication that can only come when you know you're making something truly special.  "Taste profile - Aroma: BIB & TUCKER leads with a strong vanilla scent along with fresh cut sweet grass, wet stone and old leatherbound books. Taste: With a smooth entry, the bourbon is nicely balanced with a hint of sweetness. It fulfills the promise of its nose before evolving into a warm, lightly crisp, spicy sensation. Finish: BIB & TUCKER lingers in the mouth with a complex, yet balanced chestnutty taste.

Whiskey Advocate

Mild and mellow nose of corn and oak, with a bit of warehouse reek, and a light, cleanly earthy note. Smooth and sweet in the mouth, with sweet cornmeal and sunny meadowgrass, a touch of candied cinnamon. A very friendly and easy-going bourbon, not too young, not too old. Sourced whiskey.
